Held at Shimo Gallery in Sacramento in the summer of 2012.

Several of the works in this show explore the gestural similarities in bold mark making on paper and using sliders and filters to affect images on the computer. They deconstruct and ravage familiar visual landmarks and relationships, illustrating the technical aspects of composition, form and color. I wanted to let go of the preciousness of expensive computer outputs, and find where the physical and emotional gestures lay with the freedom of marking with a stick in the sand.
