Justin Wood is an artist and illustrator who lives and works out of Sacramento, California. Since 1999, he has been utilizing digital tools to create works that primarily explore the human experience as it navigates, sometimes fitfully, through a digital revolution. He has created images for the New York Times, Wired, Sony, Esquire and has shown in Los Angeles, Sacramento, Portland, New York and Berlin. Wood has a Bachelors of Art in Illustration from the Art Center College of Design and a Masters of Fine Art in Art Practice from Stanford University.
He finds inspiration in human interest stories, modern art and architecture, network hackers, bioengineering, energy extraction, things we are losing or have lost and foolish, reckless love.
Of special interest is researching architecturally notable homes that have been demolished, or are “missing”. In particular, the output of California Central Valley regional architects, focusing on the mid-to late 1950’s work of Carter Sparks AIA
